Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the hook and keeper for your enclosed trailer. This is going to allow you to keep your trailer door open so it's not going to close on you if there's a blast of wind or anything like that. You're not going to have to worry about any potential damage or injuries from that door swinging closed. It's a very simple design. You've got two brackets here.
One's going to mount on your trailer wall, the other on your trailer door, so that when you open up that door, it'll fit right into that slot there, and it will prevent the door from closing on you. These are both made out of a nice steel construction, so they're going to hold up well for you, be nice and strong, so nothing should be able to pull that free. They do have a zinc plating on them to help resist any rust and corrosion, so they should do a good job, hold up well for you for a nice long time.Do want to give you a few measurements here to help you make sure this is the part that you need. Our arm from the outermost edge into that hinge there, we're right about 4", almost 4" exactly. Both plates are the same size, so they're right about 3" long and 1-3/4" wide, both of them the same.
We are going to get eight screws to get these mounted. Those screws are all 1" long, so keep that in mind when you're mounting these. Make sure that you have enough room so that they're not going to stick out on the inside of your trailer and cause any damage or injuries there. This does come with a lifetime warranty, so it's nice to know the company stands behind their product. So if you ever do need to replace them, even though they are very sturdy, should last a long time, there is a lifetime warranty on them. That's going to complete our look at the hook and keeper for your enclosed trailer.
Thanks for watching.
